Aylesbury Granulation specialise in hard plastic recycling. In fact, it is all that we do, that’s why you can rest assured that when your waste comes to us for recycling you know that it will end up back in plastic manufacture.
We accept a range of plastic types (see below). They must be segregated and contaminate free. There needs to be a minimum of one tonne.
What do we need from you, for your Hard Plastic Recycling?
The best thing to start with is a few pictures of the plastic waste, so this should be an image of one of the items itself, an image of all of the stock and a picture of the recycling logo. The recycling logo is often, but not always, found on the bottom of the moulding.
We also need to have an idea of the total weight, per polymer. We have a one tonne minimum per polymer or grade.
Polymers need to be kept separate for recycling purposes, but it is fine to load more than one polymer on to a lorry. All pallets should be labelled when shipped.
On some occasions we may ask for samples. This can be to make a further assessment of the material for processing reasons or for more detailed analysis, which may include lab testing.

Do I get paid?
Yes! We only accept materials that can be 100% recycled and therefore they have a value. The level of your rebate will depend upon the polymer and grade. A rebate rate will be sent to you once we have a good understanding of your waste.
Do Aylesbury Granulation need to visit site?
Unlike many large general companies, we do not feel the need to waste anyone’s time by visiting sites. Nine times out of ten we can make offers for waste just from basic information and some photos.
As mentioned above, we sometimes will ask for samples. But it is most unlikely that we will need to make a site visit.
Does Hard Plastic Recycling actually work?
Yes, it certainly does. It is all we do, and we do more and more each year.
In principle all hard plastic can be recycled. In reality some plastics are more challenging than others. Hard plastics that we can help with include PP (polypropylene), HDPE and LDPE (polyethylene), PS (polystyrene), PET (polyethylene terephthalate), PC (polycarbonate), PA (nylon) and ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene).
If you have hard plastic recycling that is not in this list then please still get in touch. We are always happy to try to think outside of the box. If we can save plastic from landfill or Energy from Waste then we always will.
