Aylesbury Granulation are experts at plastic purge recycling.  We are happy to either offer you a toll granulation service, whereby you have your own material back; or we are happy to buy your purge / lump and recycle it for our own stock holding.

Plastic Purge Recycling

Here at Aylesbury Granulation, we work closely with a number of manufacturing firms to ensure that their plastic purge recycling is done in the most efficient and environmentally friendly manner.

We take in contaminate free segregated purgings from a range of sources and in a range of polymers for mechanical recycling at our site just outside Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. The waste is fed into our shredder, where it is initially downsized to 50mm where it then streams through to be granulated. We run at around 1 tonne per hour and the finished product is a 12mm regrind, this can of course, be used directly into new plastic manufacturing, or compounding into pellet.

Purgings can be presented in builder’s bags, octibins, palletised or loose in walking floors or tipper trucks. Dependant upon the polymer, we could expect around three tonnes in a skip and eight to ten tonnes in a full wagon.

Which Materials Are Accepted?

We are able to help with both polyolefins and engineering plastics, so this includes, HDPE, MDPE, LDPE, PP, polystyrene (not EPS), nylon, polycarbonate, etc. If you have an unusual material, then please get in touch. We pride ourselves on trying to find solutions, even if they are not always readily obvious.

The key factor is that the purgings need to be contaminate free – most notably metal, but also foreign purging compounds made of a different polymer.

Closed Loop Plastic Purge Recycling

We work on a closed loop basis with many of our key customers. They send their purgings / lumps in to us; we shred and granulate and then they have them back. We would be delighted to work with you and your waste streams on that basis. We are very proud of our process quality and guarantee contaminate free regrind of your own material ready for you within a timescale that suits your business demands.
